The island of Nias is located approximately 120km of the coast of North
Sumatra (Indonesia) situated 1 degree North of the equator. It is
surrounded by the Indian ocean.
The average temperature all year round is 33 degrees Celsius.
The water temperature is approximately 29 degrees Celsius.
Nias (Sorake Beach) is known throughout the world for its surfing. Its
near perfect right hand break has been the site of previous Billabong
Classics.
Nias is an untouched destination for game fishing & blue water hunting. The
waters off Nias Lodge are the host of numerous pelagic fish, in
particular
Tuna, Dolphin fish, Giant Trevelly & Sail fish. These waters offer an
array of untapped fishing & blue water hunting opportunities.
